We Believe In The Gospel
The Bible was written by real men under the divine inspiration of God. It is the revelation of God to man. God is its author; the salvation of mankind is its purpose; it is the truth, without any mixture of error. There is one and only one living and true God. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of All. He shows Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God He was miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a young virgin, Mary. Jesus perfectly demonstrated and did the will of God the Father. He identified completely with mankind, but never sinned. Jesus Christ died on the cross as our substitute. He paid the penalty for the sin of all mankind. He truly died, was buried, miraculously came to life three days later, and returned to heaven. He is now seated at the right hand of God. When the time is right, Jesus will return to the earth in power and will rule the world as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Men are made right with God, “born again”, by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9). After this “new birth”, the Holy Spirit continues to work in the life of the individual to make that person more like Jesus.
The Church is an independent, self-directed, self-governing, local congregation of baptized believers. Its purpose is to lift up Jesus Christ in everything; to instruct, prepare and encourage believers to love the Lord and other people; to spread the “Good News” of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ to all people.
We observe two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Christian Baptism is the submersion of a believer in water. It is done in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and shows the believer’s willingness to identify themselves with Jesus and the local church. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of worship and obedience. Through it members of the church remember the death of Jesus and look forward His wonderful return.
